With a genuine love of helping people, high energy and decades of broad business experience, I am well prepared for my career in real estate. Every day I appreciate each professional step I took prior to becoming a REALTOR®, and am thrilled to have really found my calling at Boulevard Realty. My focus is knowing the ins and outs of Houston’s close-in neighborhoods. As a Certified Negotiation Expert (R), I don’t just love showing homes. Instead, my passion is helping buyers find the best solution by working in their best interest from first showing to closing. How can I put all of this to work for you? As a 3rd generation Houstonian and 4th generation Texan, my roots in this neck of the woods are deep. I am thankful that I have lived in several of Houston’s most established neighborhoods through the years, from Oak Forest (where my grandparents lived), to Mangum Manor (where I lived for 20 years), to my current home in Garden Oaks. My family also has a strong connection to the Heights with my grandmother being one of the first Red Coats at Heights High School (formerly Reagan), my grandfather owning the Port of Houston Laundry on the corner of Houston Avenue and Crockett, and my father, aunt, son (Sidney) and daughter (Mekenzie) all attending Travis Elementary - where my grandmother served as PTA president. As Travis’ ambassador, Sidney had the honor of showing Barbara Bush around the campus when the school had its 100-year celebration! After attending UT-Austin for 2 years, I transferred to UH and graduated with a BS in Management. My degree has prepared me for management roles in several different organizations. For 20 years, I owned a Jazzercise franchise, where I cherished being a part of the daily lives of my students: celebrating their highs and lows while making lifelong friendships both inside and outside the studio. I became very involved in the Bellaire community and supported every community event through the Bellaire Rec Center. I saw firsthand the impact and significance of community involvement, which remains an important part of my life today. As managing director for the Heights’ HITS Theatre for 5 years, I wore a different hat every day. I handled the finances, oversaw fundraising events, coordinated volunteers, served as front of house manager for the shows, and anything else that needed to be done! One day I was creating and presenting cash flow reports for the board or meeting with donors, and the next I was painting sets and running the light board. With both the Jazzercise franchise and HITS Theatre, I loved how the business side combined with the creative process - and I always enjoyed the personal interaction with customers and students. More recently, I furthered my management and business skills as the office administrator and executive assistant to the owner of a boutique Houston-based HR consulting firm that serves a national clientele of private, public and institutional clients. Real estate is a great fit for me because it utilizes so many skills developed throughout my career, as well as my personal experiences as a lifelong resident of Houston. In addition to technical and professional skills - such as knowledge of contracts, negotiating deals, and working professionally with vendors - my strong interpersonal skills help me anticipate and manage the complicated emotions that can surface during a transaction. I love tapping into my creative side and take special pride in taking care of buyers. As much as I love real estate, my greatest accomplishment will always be my two kids. Sidney is a sophomore at UT-Austin and Mekenzie is a senior at Carnegie Vanguard High School. They have been very active in theatre, choirs, and volleyball, and I love cheering them on at all of their events - even if that means driving to Austin and back in one day just to be there for Sidney when he has a choir performance! The rest of my amazing family is composed of the love of my life, Paul, whom I married 2 ½ years ago; my stepson, Trip, who is a sophomore at Cy Falls High School; and my 2 rescue lab mix dogs, Sunny and Bailey, who are full of energy and chew on everything. Aside from real estate, my passions are gardening, UFC, ketones and ketosis, and raising our kids to be unique, kind, and accepting human beings!
